PLAYout
Following our #PlayAtHome programme in response to the Covid 19 pandemic, as national restrictions eased, MotherShip wanted to deliver a programme of work that brought families back into the outside, creatively exploring nature and the environment together.
In partnership with Wild Lives Forest School we delivered cross artform sessions in Warley Woods across two projects, PLAYgroup PLAYout and Inclusive PLAYout. PLAYgroup PLAYout sessions took place weekly and were specifically for newly arrived mothers and their 0-4 year olds – asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants. Sessions were also supported by an ESOL practitioner and additional weekly sessions continued to happen online for those unable to access the in-person sessions. Inclusive PLAYdays were monthly sessions for families of children with additional needs.
