MAKEit workshops are perfectly placed for team away days, team building activities, health and wellbeing initiatives and encouraging lifelong learning. They can also help your organisation with meeting its CSR agenda.

Workshops are led by an amazing team of newly arrived women, who have come together to build a social enterprise, not only developing their own creative skills, but sharing those skills with others. MAKEit workshops offer a unique opportunity for participants to engage with an inspiring group of women, whose experiences may be unlike any they have previously encountered.

MAKEit supports creative befriending project PLAYgroup, tackling the isolation of newly arrived mothers of young children, enabling them to build relationships with local mothers through cross-artform sessions led by highly skilled professional artists, and providing them with access to ESOL support.

All profits from the MAKEit workshops will be used to fund PLAYgroup. One screen printing workshop will fund ESOL support for 4 weeks, One Stitching Stories or Lino-cut workshop will fund 2 weeks of activity in a community setting.

We offer a number of workshops that can be designed around your requirements:

Stitching Stories

This is a collaborative activity where a collective banner will be created. This meditative activity promotes positive mental health and wellbeing, allowing participants to slow down as they engage in reflective creativity with their colleagues. This workshop explores the importance of stories and storytelling, as the women share some of their stories and encourage the group to identify their own.

This activity can be focused on any area the client may be interested in reflecting upon, e.g. leadership and professional development, a specific area of work or brand that could be incorporated into the design of the piece, or used as a team building activity to reflect on the power of stories collectively. Half day £1000

Tote bag screen-printing

This is a fun pop up activity where participants can choose from a range of designs and will be shown basic screen-printing techniques to enable them to screen print their chosen design on to a cotton bag. Perfect as a team building exercise or to complement your wellbeing agenda or learning and development activities. 1.5 hours £500

Lino-cut postcards

This hands-on workshop enables participants to work in teams to design and print postcards featuring key words or phrases. The activity can be focused on an area of the clients choosing to respond to particular events, areas of development or challenges you may be facing as a team or organisations. Half day £1000
